An admin fee, sometimes called a set-up or booking fee, is a one-off charge some businesses add for setting up an account or agreement, on top of the price of the service itself. In storage it can turn a low headline price into a higher first payment, so it’s worth looking for when you compare quotes.
At Wigwam
There’s no set-up fee and no admin fee when you store with us, and we’re not currently taking deposits. When you book, you pay two things:
- your first four weeks’ storage in advance, after any introductory offer at your site;
- contents cover, if you take ours rather than using your own insurance.
Your quote shows both before you pay, and the total in your quote is the price you pay. If you reserve a unit ahead of time, the £10 reservation fee comes off your first payment, so it isn’t an extra charge. Our prices page explains what storage costs.
Comparing quotes fairly
Compare the same size of unit, the total you’ll pay on day one, and the standard price once any offer ends. Look out for admin fees, deposits and prices shown “+VAT”, which can make a lower headline figure cost more.
