There’s no set-up fee, no admin fee and, for new customers, no deposit when you store with Wigwam. Before you move in you pay your first four weeks’ storage in advance, plus contents cover if you take ours, and your quote shows each amount before you pay. Our prices page explains what storage costs.
What you’ll pay, and when
Storage, every four weeks. We charge every 28 days from the day your storage starts, so a year has 13 payments rather than 12. That’s worth knowing if you budget by the month. We email your invoice 5 to 7 days before each payment, so you always know what’s coming.
Contents cover. Everything you store needs to be insured, so that if the worst happened you could replace it. You can take our contents protection, which is priced on the replacement value of what you store, or use your own policy if it covers goods in self storage. If you take ours and then send us proof of your own cover within 14 days of moving in, we refund our charges in full.
VAT. Nothing is added at checkout: the total in your quote is what you pay.
A padlock, only if you need one. Where your site uses smart entry to open your unit, you lock and unlock it from your phone. At Chipping Norton, and for drive-up units, you use your own padlock; bring one or buy one from our Box Shop.
Two things to plan for
When an introductory offer ends. Our sites often run an offer on the first few weeks, and the standard price applies after that. Offers vary from site to site, so when you budget for a longer stay, look at the standard price as well as the offer price. We’re happy to confirm both.
If a price changes. We’ll always tell you in writing first, and a new price only starts from a payment date at least 28 days after we’ve told you. If you’d rather not continue, you can leave without charge before it applies.
Charges you can easily avoid
A few charges only come up if something goes wrong. A late charge may apply if a payment is missed, and if you’re on an introductory offer, a missed payment can mean the discount you’ve had becomes payable. Leaving the unit dirty or damaged can mean a cleaning or repair charge, and leaving with less notice than your agreement asks for (normally 14 days) means paying for the days you didn’t give. Keeping your card details up to date, sweeping out when you leave and emailing your end date in good time keeps all of these at zero.
