Business storage is storage space rented by a business for its stock, tools, equipment, office furniture or records, instead of taking on a larger shop, office or warehouse. It is usually flexible: the business pays for the space it needs now and can change size as it grows or shrinks. Many businesses use it for office furniture and shop fixtures during a refit or at lease end.
At Wigwam
A business rents the same secure units, on the same terms, as a household. Your unit sits behind access-controlled doors, has its own alarm, and is on a site watched by CCTV that a professional monitoring company monitors around the clock.
- Business storage starts from as little as 14 days, and after that it rolls on every four weeks until you give notice, normally 14 days. You can move to a bigger or smaller unit when one is free.
- You can pick and pack your own orders at your unit, normally between 6am and 10pm, seven days a week. The unit is used for storage, so it can’t be an office, a shop, a workshop or your business address. We’ve written more on running a business from a unit.
- With smart entry you can share access with colleagues from your phone, for a set period or with no end date.
- We email an invoice 5 to 7 days before each four-weekly payment. If you need your invoices to show VAT, call us before you book and we’ll confirm what they’ll show.
What to plan for
We can’t sign for or receive deliveries on your behalf, so book suppliers for a time when you or a colleague will be there. For a pallet, ask the haulier for a tail-lift, and call us to check whether there’s a pallet truck at your site; free trolleys are there for everything else. Your stock needs contents cover like everything else stored with us, ours or your own business insurance, based on what it would cost to replace today. A few products, such as aerosols and other flammable stock, can’t be stored, so check the list before you move stock in.
See our business storage page, or call us on 0800 2545585 to find the right size.
