A storage facility is the whole site where storage units are kept: the building, yard or compound, with its gates, doors, corridors, security systems and parking. You rent a unit; the operator runs the facility around it, including the shared areas and the security that protects every unit.
At Wigwam
Each of our facilities is built to keep your belongings safe whether or not you’re there:
- a secure perimeter, with CCTV monitored around the clock by a professional monitoring company;
- access control on the external doors, opened with smart entry on your phone (or your own PIN at Chipping Norton);
- an individual alarm and lock on every unit, with our security team on hand to investigate if your alarm goes off while you’re away;
- professional pest control, with regular inspections.
You can get in from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week. Every site has a customer car park where you can park free while you unload, free trolleys to use, and a toilet you’re welcome to use. If you need a pallet truck, ask us whether your site has one. Bath, Burton-on-Trent, Chipping Norton and Dorking sell boxes and packaging in store during office hours.
Our team is on hand Monday to Saturday by phone, and office hours vary from site to site, so call us on 0800 2545585 to check when the office is open at yours. You can see all 16 of our market-town storage facilities in one place.
Your unit and the shared areas
Your unit is yours to use; the corridors, lifts, car park and loading areas are shared with other customers. Keeping them clear, taking rubbish home and closing doors behind you keeps the site safe and easy for everyone, you included. Self storage means you do your own loading, and if you’d like a hand with the heavy lifting, we can put you in touch with local removals and man-and-van firms.
