Pick and pack

Pick and pack is the part of fulfilling an order where someone takes (“picks”) the ordered items from stock and packs them, with packaging and a label, ready for dispatch. A business can do it itself or pay a fulfilment company to do it.

At Wigwam

You can keep your stock in a business storage unit with us and pick and pack your own orders at your unit, coming and going as often as you like, normally from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week. You can share access with staff through smart entry.

A simple set-up works well:

  • freestanding shelving, with your bestsellers nearest the door;
  • a folding table as a packing bench, with mailers, tape and labels within reach;
  • a charged laptop or phone, as units don’t have power sockets.

A few things to plan around: keep packed parcels inside your unit so the shared corridors stay clear, and meet couriers yourself, as we can’t sign for or hand over parcels on your behalf. Your unit can’t be your returns or business address, and it’s for storage and packing rather than a shop or office.
