Perimeter fencing is the fence or barrier around the outer edge of a site, marking its boundary and keeping people and vehicles out unless they come in through a controlled entrance. In security terms it’s the first layer: anyone without permission has to get past it before they reach a building, a door or a unit.
At Wigwam
Our sites have a secure perimeter, and it’s one of several layers that protect your belongings:
- the secure perimeter around the site;
- access control on the external doors, opened with smart entry, a fob, or your own PIN at Chipping Norton;
- an individual alarm and lock on every unit, with our security team on hand to investigate if your alarm goes off;
- CCTV monitored around the clock by a professional monitoring company.
At Chipping Norton and Shipston-on-Stour, our outdoor containers also sit in an access-controlled compound.
Why layers matter
No single measure is perfect, which is why good storage sites use several. Each layer makes the next one harder to reach, and together they make a storage unit a hard and unappealing target.
