CCTV (closed-circuit television) is a camera system whose pictures go only to a private set of screens or recorders, not to broadcast. At a storage site, cameras cover entrances, corridors and outside areas, so activity can be watched live, recorded and reviewed later. It’s one layer of a site’s security, working alongside locks, alarms and access control.
At Wigwam
All our sites are watched around the clock by a professional CCTV monitoring company, so your site is being watched even when you can’t be there.
CCTV works alongside the rest of our security:
- a secure perimeter around the site;
- access control systems on the external doors, which you open with smart entry (or your own PIN at Chipping Norton);
- an individual alarm and lock on every unit, which sets and unsets as you come and go. If your unit’s alarm goes off while you’re not on site, our security team investigates.
Our sites also meet fire and safety regulations.
Your privacy
When you visit, you’ll be on camera, and we use those images to keep the site secure and to help if anything ever needs investigating. Our privacy notice explains how we look after them and who else may see them, such as the police investigating a crime.
Security and cover together
Security protects your things, and contents cover puts things right if anything ever goes wrong. Everything stored with us needs to be covered, through our contents protection or your own policy, so you have both working for you.
If you’re storing for a business and your insurer asks how your site is protected, call us on 0800 2545585 and we’ll give you the details for your site.
