Sprinkler system

A sprinkler system is a network of water pipes with sprinkler heads that open automatically when the heat from a fire reaches them, spraying water to control or put out the fire. Usually only the heads near the fire open, not every sprinkler in the building.

At Wigwam

Our storage buildings have fire and smoke detection systems, and our sites meet fire and safety regulations. If your business insurer asks about the fire protection at your site, including whether it has sprinklers, call us on 0800 2545585 and we’ll tell you what’s in place there.

We start by keeping fire out: the same list of things that can’t be stored applies to every customer, including fuel, gas bottles, aerosols and anything flammable, and our units have no power sockets.

Water and your cover

If a fire or water from a burst pipe ever damaged your things, our contents protection covers fire and water leakage, settled new for old. It doesn’t cover gradual damp, so pack everything clean and dry, lift it off the floor on a pallet or boards, and use breathable covers. Keeping things off the floor helps against any water too.
