You can store with us without a smartphone. If one doesn’t suit you, just let us know when you book and we can supply a fob instead.
How entry normally works
With smart entry, your phone is your key. Smart entry opens the external doors and, where your unit has a smart lock, your unit too, and it switches your unit’s alarm off as you go in and sets it again when you lock up. It means there’s no key to lose and no shared code, and only you, or people you choose, can get in.
If you’d rather not use a phone
Tell us when you book, online or on 0800 2545585, that you’d like a fob, and we’ll talk you through how it works at your site. If you’re not sure how you’d get on with either, give us a ring before you choose a site and we’ll explain it in plain terms.
At Chipping Norton, entry works differently for everyone. You use your own PIN at the door and your own padlock on your unit, so no smartphone is needed there at all. You can bring a padlock, or buy a keyed or combination one at reception.
If someone helps you
If a son, daughter, friend or carer does the visiting for you, you can share access with them. With smart entry, they use their own phone, and access can be given for a set time or with no end date. If you do use a smartphone
Setting up takes a few minutes. Before you move in, you’ll get a text with a link and a temporary password. Download Storage Smart Entry, allow Bluetooth and Location, choose the United Kingdom flag (+44), log in with your mobile number without the first zero, and create your own password. The temporary password lasts 24 hours, so if your text is older than that, just ask us for a new one. If you’re new to it, we’d suggest moving in on a weekday, when we’re easy to reach.
