An individually alarmed unit is a storage unit fitted with its own alarm, separate from the building’s, which is set when the unit is locked and raises an alert if the unit is opened without the customer’s access. Because each unit has its own alarm, an alert points to the exact door concerned.
At Wigwam
Every one of our units is individually alarmed, with its own alarm and lock, so you’re the only one with access to your things. If your unit’s alarm goes off while you’re not on site, our security team will be on hand to investigate.
There’s no separate alarm code to remember. When you unlock your unit with smart entry on your phone, its alarm switches off, and when you lock up again, the alarm is set. At Chipping Norton, it works through the PIN you choose when you book: you enter it on arrival, and it sets and unsets your unit’s alarm.
Your unit alarm is one layer of the security at our sites. They’re watched around the clock by a professional CCTV monitoring company, with a secure perimeter and access control on the external doors.
Making the most of it
Because locking up is what sets the alarm, check your unit is properly locked whenever you step away, even for a quick trip back to the car. If someone else needs to get in, share access with them through smart entry, so they use their own phone and you never hand over a key or a code.
An alarm protects your unit, and contents cover puts things right if anything ever goes wrong. Everyone storing with us needs cover, either our contents protection or their own policy, so you have both working for you.
