Drive-up unit

A drive-up unit is a storage unit with its own outside door, often a roller shutter, that opens onto a yard or roadway, so you can park right beside it and load straight from your car, van or trailer. There are no corridors, lifts or stairs between your vehicle and your space.

At Wigwam

Our indoor units are purpose-built inside our buildings. At Chipping Norton, Shipston-on-Stour and Warminster we also have a limited number of drive-up units, alongside our outdoor containers, so ask us which are free at your nearest site.

A drive-up unit suits anyone who’ll be in and out with a vehicle: bulky furniture, heavy tools and equipment, a trader’s stock, or a whole-house move that has to go in quickly. You can visit from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, and park right outside while you load.

Our sites have a secure perimeter and CCTV monitored around the clock by a professional monitoring company. Ask us how your drive-up unit locks when you book, so you know whether to bring a padlock on the day; our Box Shop sells a heavy-duty shutter padlock made for the job.

Offers can apply to particular units, such as drive-up units at Chipping Norton, so check the offer shown against the unit in your quote.

Drive-up unit or container?

Both let you park at the door. A container is a steel shipping container standing in a yard; a drive-up unit is a space with its own outside door. If you’re storing smaller things, or like the idea of a building around them with access-controlled doors and an alarm on every unit, an indoor unit may suit you better, and free trolleys make the trip from the car park easy.

Not sure which is right? Tell us what you’re storing and how often you’ll visit. Get a price online, or call us on 0800 2545585.
