An indoor unit is a storage room inside a building, reached through the building’s own entrance and corridors rather than straight from the car park. The building keeps the weather off your things, and its entrance adds a layer of access control before anyone reaches your unit.
At Wigwam
Our indoor units are purpose-built storage rooms inside our buildings. Each one sits behind three layers of protection:
- access control on the external doors, which open from your phone with smart entry (or with a PIN at Chipping Norton);
- an individual alarm on every unit, which sets and unsets as you come and go, with our security team on hand to investigate if it goes off while you’re away;
- a secure perimeter and CCTV monitored around the clock by a professional monitoring company.
Only you, and the people you choose to share access with, can open your unit. Access is 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, and there’s free parking while you unload and free trolleys for the trip from your car to your door. If you don’t have a smartphone, call us and we can supply a fob.
What indoor means for your things
Our indoor units are clean, dry and secure. They’re standard self storage rather than heated or climate-controlled rooms, so the temperature follows the seasons to some degree. For most household belongings that’s no problem: pack everything dry, lift things off the floor, and use breathable covers rather than sealed plastic. If you have something temperature-sensitive, such as fine art or an instrument, call us and we’ll talk through the best way to store it.
If you’d rather park right at the door, Chipping Norton, Shipston-on-Stour and Warminster also have a limited number of drive-up units and outdoor containers.
