Rolling contract

A rolling contract is an agreement with no fixed end date. It carries on from one payment period to the next until either side gives notice to end it. A fixed-term contract, by contrast, runs for a set length, such as six or twelve months, and leaving early can cost extra.

At Wigwam

Storage with us works this way, so you’re never tied into a long contract. Our minimum stay is just two weeks. After that, your storage simply carries on, charged every four weeks, until you tell us you’d like to leave. Your invoice is emailed 5 to 7 days before each payment, so nothing arrives unannounced.

When you’re ready to go, email hello@wigwamstorage.co.uk with your end date, giving the notice shown on the front page of your storage agreement, which is normally 14 days. Once you’ve moved out and we’ve checked the unit, we refund any days you’ve paid for but won’t use. If you already know you only need a short stay, you can give notice on the day you sign up, so the minimum and the notice run side by side.

Plans change, and that’s fine. If a move slips and you haven’t given notice, there’s nothing to do: your storage just keeps going. If you have given notice and need longer, call us before your end date and we’ll agree a new date with you in writing.

What rolling doesn’t mean

Rolling doesn’t mean leaving the same day. Storage is charged to the end of your notice period, so it helps to email us as soon as you know your date, even if the unit isn’t empty yet. And because there’s no fixed term, prices can be reviewed over time. If we ever change yours, we’ll tell you in writing at least 28 days before it applies, and you can leave without charge before then if you’d rather.
