Bridging loan

A bridging loan is short-term borrowing, usually secured on property, that “bridges” the gap between buying a new home and receiving the money from selling the old one. It lets a buyer complete before their sale does, but interest is typically charged monthly and costs can add up quickly, so it’s normally used for weeks or months, not years. A mortgage adviser can explain whether one suits you.

At Wigwam

A bridging loan solves the money gap. Bridging storage solves the belongings gap: when you have to leave one home before you can move into the next, your things need somewhere safe to wait.

Storage with us suits that kind of gap:

  • No end date needed. The minimum stay is just two weeks, then your storage carries on, paid every four weeks, until you give notice, normally 14 days.
  • No deposit. We’re not currently taking deposits. You pay your first four weeks in advance, plus contents cover if you take ours.
  • Only pay for what you use. We refund any unused days once the unit is empty and checked.

On our October 2026 price lists, the middle price every four weeks was £228 for a 100 sq ft unit, a rough fit for a two or three-bedroom home. Prices vary by site and change often.
