Chain-free describes a buyer or seller who isn’t relying on another sale or purchase to complete their move. A chain-free buyer, such as a first-time buyer or someone who has already sold, can move as soon as their own purchase is ready, which makes them attractive to sellers because there’s less that can go wrong.

At Wigwam

Some people choose to become chain-free on purpose: they sell their home, put their belongings into storage, and stay with family or in a rental while they find the right place. As a chain-free buyer, they can then move quickly when it matters.

Storage with us suits that kind of gap:

  • No end date needed. The minimum stay is just two weeks, and after that your storage carries on, paid every four weeks, until you give notice, normally 14 days.
  • Only pay for what you use. Once the unit is empty and checked, we refund any days you’ve paid for but won’t use.
  • Get to your things. Access is 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, so you can collect winter coats or paperwork while you search.
  • Safe meanwhile. Every unit has its own alarm, and our CCTV is monitored around the clock.
