A loss adjuster is an impartial specialist in handling and settling insurance claims. They assess the damage, identify the cause, check that the policy covers the loss and its conditions have been met, and check that the amount claimed matches the real cost of repair or replacement. An adjuster appointed by the insurer is paid by the insurer, not by you.

At Wigwam

If you ever need to claim on our contents protection, you won’t be left dealing with an insurer on your own. You call us, then email hello@wigwamstorage.co.uk asking us to make a claim, and we notify our insurer promptly. Along the way, we, the insurer or its loss adjuster may ask you for photos, receipts or other details to show what happened and what your things were worth.

If a loss adjuster does get in touch, their job is to assess the claim impartially, and the more you can show them, the smoother it goes.

How to help your claim along

Take photos before you move anything, keep the damaged items until you’ve checked with us, and have your inventory ready with rough values, plus any receipts or bank statements. If anything was stolen, report it to the police and keep the crime reference number.

If you use your own home or business insurance for your stored things, your insurer may appoint its own loss adjuster. If they need anything from us, such as details of the incident or your storage invoices, call us on 0800 2545585 and we’ll help.
