Loading bay

A loading bay is an area set aside for vehicles to park while goods are loaded or unloaded, usually close to a building’s entrance or goods door. Some have a raised platform level with a lorry’s floor; others are simply a marked space near the door.

At Wigwam

At every site you can park free in the customer car park while you load and unload, and our free trolleys take your things from the car to your door. For heavy kit, ask us whether your site has a pallet truck you can use.

At Chipping Norton, Shipston-on-Stour and Warminster, we also have a limited number of drive-up units and containers, where you park right beside your own door and load straight from your vehicle.

Making loading quick

  • Arrive with the heaviest things loaded last, so they come off first and go in first.
  • Take each trolley load straight into your unit, so the shared corridors stay clear.
  • For pallets, there’s no forklift on site, so ask your haulier for a vehicle with a tail-lift, and book it for a time when you, or someone you’ve shared access with, can meet it.
  • Access is 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, so an early or late slot often means a quieter car park.
