Stock storage is keeping goods a business intends to sell in rented space until they’re needed. It’s one kind of business storage, and unlike stored furniture or files, stock moves in and out often and its value rises and falls through the year.
It isn’t the same as fulfilment, which is picking, packing and sending each order.
At Wigwam
Boxed products, packaging, palletised goods, display kit and equipment are all welcome, and our business storage page explains how units work for stock. You come and go as often as you like during access hours, normally 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, and you can pick and pack your own orders at your unit. Every unit has its own alarm, and our CCTV is monitored around the clock by a professional monitoring company.
Deliveries. You stay in control of your stock and sign for it yourself, so book deliveries for a time when you, or someone you’ve shared access with, can meet them. There’s no forklift on site, so for a pallet, ask the haulier for a tail-lift and a pallet truck. Free trolleys are at every site, and a pallet truck may be available at yours too: just ask us.
Cover. Your stock needs contents cover like everything else stored with us. Declare it at what it would cost you to replace it today, not your selling price, and keep the figure in step as stock levels change. Before a busy season, call us and we’ll help you raise it.
What can’t go in. A few products stay out to keep everyone’s belongings safe, including aerosols, solvents, fuel and other flammable stock. Battery goods have limits: up to ten laptops, tablets, children’s toys or similar items with built-in batteries in a unit, and no power banks. For food stock, call us first.
Buyers and collections. The unit is a store you work from rather than a shop, office or business address. If a buyer or clearance firm needs to collect from your unit, give us a call first, and someone from your side will need to be there.
