Site security

Site security is the set of measures that protect a storage site as a whole: a secure perimeter, controlled entry to the site and its buildings, CCTV, alarms and checks on who comes in. It works alongside the security of each unit, such as its lock and alarm, so anyone without permission would have to get past several layers to reach your belongings.

At Wigwam

Our security works in layers, and every layer is working whether or not anyone is in the office:

  • our sites are watched around the clock by a professional CCTV monitoring company;
  • each site has a secure perimeter, with access control on the external doors, which you open with smart entry on your phone (or your own PIN at Chipping Norton), normally from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week;
  • every unit is individually alarmed, and if your alarm goes off while you’re not on site, our security team investigates;
  • only you, and anyone you choose to share access with, can get into your unit.

Our sites also meet fire and safety regulations, and we may ask anyone on site to show ID, which helps keep out people who have no business being there.

Simple habits that help

A few small things keep every layer working. Check your unit is properly locked before you leave, because locking up is what sets its alarm. Close the external doors and gates behind you. Share access only with people you trust. If anything ever looks wrong, call us on 0800 2545585.

Good security lowers the risk, and contents cover is what puts things right if something does go wrong. Everything stored with us is covered, either through our contents protection or your own policy, so you have both working for you.
