Proof of address

Proof of address is a recent document, such as a utility bill, that shows your name at your current home address. It’s different from proof of identity, which shows who you are.

At Wigwam

When you book, we ask for two forms of ID: a photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence, and a copy of a recent utility bill. The utility bill is your proof of address. It’s one of the simple checks that helps keep everyone’s belongings safe from fraud.

If your bills are in someone else’s name, or still at your old address because you’re mid-move, call us on 0800 2545585 before you book and we’ll tell you what we need. The same goes if you’re a student, living with family, or booking for a business.

Keeping your address up to date

Your address matters after booking too, because it’s where your invoices and any letters about your storage go. If your address, email or phone number changes, email us at hello@wigwamstorage.co.uk within 48 hours, so nothing important goes astray. It’s worth doing as part of your house-move checklist, alongside your bank and your doctor.

We’ll also ask for an alternate contact who lives at a different address: someone we can reach in an emergency if we can’t get hold of you. Do keep their details up to date with us too.

When you’re ready to book, have your ID, a recent bill and your phone to hand and get a price online.
