Personal storage is self storage rented by an individual for household and personal belongings, such as furniture, boxes, keepsakes and seasonal things, as opposed to business storage for stock, equipment or records. It is usually tied to a life event: a move, a renovation, a bereavement, a separation or simply running out of room.
At Wigwam
Personal storage uses the same secure units and the same simple terms as any other booking. Your unit sits behind access-controlled doors, has its own alarm, and is on a site with CCTV monitored around the clock by a professional monitoring company. Only you, and the people you choose to share access with, can open it.
- Our minimum stay is just two weeks, and after that your storage rolls on, paid every four weeks, until you give notice, which is normally 14 days.
- New customers don’t pay a deposit. You pay your first four weeks in advance, plus contents cover if you take ours.
- Everything you store needs contents cover for its replacement value. You can take ours or use your own policy; if you take ours and show us your own cover within 14 days of moving in, we refund our charge in full.
- Access is 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, with free parking while you unload and free trolleys to use.
Keepsakes and valuables
Furniture, boxes, clothes and keepsakes are all welcome. The exceptions are cash, deeds and share certificates, and anything truly irreplaceable, such as a family ring or the only copy of a treasured letter. Those belong with you, because no amount of cover could put them back.
If you’re not sure how much space your home’s contents need, our team works out sizes every day, so call us on 0800 2545585, or get a price online.
