Cooling-off period

A cooling-off period is a set time after you agree a contract when you can change your mind and cancel without giving a reason. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, it applies to contracts made at a distance, such as online or by phone, or away from the trader’s premises, and for a service it ends 14 days after the day the contract is made.

At Wigwam

If you book online or by phone without coming into the site, you have 14 days from the day we confirm your booking to change your mind. Plans change, especially around a house move, and the 14 days give you breathing space.

You only pay for the storage you’ve actually had. If you cancel before your storage start date, there’s nothing to pay for storage at all. If you cancel after you’ve started, we keep the part of your first four weeks that covers the days you’ve had, and refund the rest once your things are out of the unit.

To cancel, call us on 0800 2545585 or email hello@wigwamstorage.co.uk with your name, address, booking date and unit number. Close to the end of the 14 days, email is a good choice because it gives you a dated record.

Cooling-off or notice period?

The cooling-off period is a way to back out of a new booking made without visiting. A notice period is how you end your storage at any time, however you booked. If you signed up in person, or the 14 days have passed, you can still leave whenever you need to: just give us notice, normally 14 days, and we refund any unused days you’ve paid for.
