Drive-up or indoor unit: which suits what I’m storing?

Choose drive-up storage if you’ll be loading heavy or bulky things from a van, or visiting often with a vehicle. Choose an indoor unit if you’re storing household furniture, boxes or anything you’d rather keep inside a building, behind access-controlled doors. Most household moves suit an indoor unit; tradespeople and businesses with bulky kit often prefer drive-up.

Indoor units

Our indoor units are purpose-built rooms inside our buildings.

  • Protected in layers. The external doors have access control, every unit has its own alarm, and our sites are watched by CCTV monitored around the clock by a professional monitoring company.
  • Sheltered. Your things are inside a building, out of the wind and rain.
  • Easy loading. Free trolleys take your things from the car park to your door, and there are ground-floor units for heavy items.
  • Every size. From a locker for a few boxes to space for a whole house.

Drive-up units and containers

At Chipping Norton, Shipston-on-Stour and Warminster, we also have a limited number of drive-up units and outdoor containers.

  • Park at the door. You load straight from your vehicle, with no corridors or lifts in between.
  • Good for heavy and bulky things. Tools, machinery, garden equipment, stock and large furniture.
  • Easy for frequent trips. Handy if you’re in and out with a van several times a week.
  • Containers at Chipping Norton and Shipston-on-Stour sit in an access-controlled compound and are insulated to help stop condensation.

Ask us how your drive-up unit or container locks when you book, so you know whether to bring a padlock on the day.
