What does a storage ‘from’ price include, and why is my quote higher?

A “from” price is a starting point: it’s usually the price of the smallest size, often with an introductory offer applied. Your quote is the real price for the unit you’ve chosen, at the site you’ve chosen, plus contents cover if you take ours. So if your quote is higher, it’s usually because you need a bigger space, not because anything has been added.

What changes the price

  • The size. A bigger unit costs more, so the price for a room’s worth of furniture will be higher than the smallest locker. Choosing the smallest unit that fits is the simplest way to keep the cost down.
  • The site. Self storage is very local, and prices vary from town to town, and sometimes between floors at the same site.
  • The offer. Our sites often run an introductory offer on your first weeks. Offers vary from site to site, and some apply to selected units only, so your quote shows the offer for the exact unit you pick, and the standard price that follows it.
  • Contents cover. Everything you store needs to be covered. You can take our contents protection, priced on the value you declare, or use your own insurance. If you take ours and send proof of your own cover within 14 days of moving in, we refund our charges in full.

What your quote doesn’t add

There’s no set-up fee and no admin fee, and we’re not currently taking deposits. VAT isn’t added on top at checkout: the total in your quote is the price you pay.

When you book, you pay your first four weeks’ storage in advance, plus contents cover if you take ours. After that, storage is charged every four weeks, and we email your invoice 5 to 7 days before each payment.

Comparing prices fairly

When you compare quotes, compare the same size, the price after any offer ends, and the total you’ll actually pay. Watch for prices quoted “+VAT”, for deposits and for set-up fees, which can make a lower headline figure cost more in the end.

As a guide, on our October 2026 price lists the middle price every four weeks was £85 for a 25 sq ft unit, £133 for 50 sq ft and £228 for 100 sq ft. Prices vary by site and change often.
