Standard UK pallet

A standard UK pallet is the pallet size most commonly used in the UK, with a base of 1,200 x 1,000 mm. It’s about 20% larger than the 1,200 x 800 mm Euro pallet, and both are among the sizes accepted for international shipping. Hauliers usually price deliveries by the pallet, so knowing the size helps when you book.

At Wigwam

Pallets of stock and dry building materials are welcome. There’s no forklift on site, so ask your haulier for a vehicle with a tail-lift and a pallet truck, and be there, or send someone you’ve shared access with, to meet the delivery and check the goods. Ask us whether your site has a pallet truck you can use. Our business storage page explains how units work for stock.

Ground-floor units are the easiest for pallets. At Chipping Norton, Shipston-on-Stour and Warminster, drive-up units and containers let the vehicle park right beside the door.

Before the pallets arrive

  • Tell us how many pallets you’ll store, and their loaded height, so we can suggest a unit with room to manoeuvre.
  • Wheel each pallet straight into your unit, so the shared corridors stay clear.
  • Include the stock in the value you declare for contents cover, at what it would cost to replace today.
