Snagging is checking a newly built or renovated home for faults, or “snags”, such as cracked tiles, sticking doors, paint marks or missing fittings, and asking the builder to fix them. The list of faults is the snagging list, and a snagging inspection can be done by the buyer or by a professional inspector.

At Wigwam

Snags are easier to spot, and easier for the builder to fix, in an empty home. Keeping furniture in storage until the main snags are sorted means trades can get to every wall and floor, and your things don’t get dusty or knocked.

  • No end date needed. The minimum stay is just two weeks, and after that your storage carries on until you give notice, normally 14 days.
  • Bring things home in stages. Access is 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, so you can fetch what you need as rooms are finished.
  • Only pay for what you use. We refund any unused days once the unit is empty and checked.

A snagging tip

Do your first inspection before you move furniture in, and take dated photos of each fault. It’s much easier to prove a mark was there before you arrived.
