If a payment doesn’t go through, we’ll get in touch promptly and help you put it right, for example with a secure link so you can pay by card. If you can see a difficult month coming, the best thing you can do is call us before the payment is due on 0800 2545585, so we can look at your options together.
If your payment has failed
If it’s something simple, such as a card that has expired or been replaced, we’ll contact you with instructions to update your details, or send you a secure payment link. Once you’ve paid by link, you can save your card so future payments are taken automatically.
A late charge may apply, so it’s worth sorting quickly. Because we email your invoice 5 to 7 days before every payment, you’ll usually have a few days’ warning to check your card is up to date.
If money’s tight
Talk to us. Tell us what you can pay and when, and we’ll look at it with you. You also have options of your own:
- Move to a smaller unit. If you can sell, donate or take home part of what’s stored, a smaller unit costs less every four weeks. We’ll check what’s free at your site.
- Give notice. If you no longer need storage, email us your end date. The notice period is normally 14 days, and we refund any unused days once the unit is empty.
Why it matters to keep in touch
Storage fees are paid in advance. While a payment is outstanding, our terms allow us to pause access to the unit until it’s settled, and if you’re on an introductory offer, a missed payment can mean the discount you’ve had becomes payable. If a debt stayed unpaid, we would write to you formally before anything stored could ever be sold. We’d much rather never get anywhere near that, which is why we contact you promptly when a payment is missed, and why a quick call from you makes such a difference. You can read the detail in our terms and conditions.
