A part-load removal is a move where your belongings share a removal lorry with other customers’ loads heading the same way, rather than having a vehicle to yourself. It’s often cheaper, especially for small or long-distance moves, but collection and delivery dates are usually more flexible, so you may wait a few days for your things.
At Wigwam
Because part-load dates can move, a storage unit can hold your things at either end while the timing settles. The minimum stay is just two weeks, and after that your storage carries on until you give notice, normally 14 days, so you don’t need to know the delivery date when you book.
A removal firm can bring your things straight into your unit. We can’t sign for or receive deliveries on your behalf, so you, or a friend or relative you’ve shared access with, need to be there to let the crew in. Access is 6am to 10pm, seven days a week.
Before you book a part load
- Ask how many days the collection and delivery windows are.
- Check the firm’s insurance covers your things on the lorry and in their care.
- Label every box with your name, as other customers’ boxes will be on board.
- Our contents protection starts once your things are in your unit, so check the cover for the journey.
