Yes. If you store at Chipping Norton, Shipston-on-Stour or Warminster, where we have outdoor container storage as well as indoor units, you can switch whenever a container is free. Call us on 0800 2545585 and we’ll check what’s available and talk you through the move.
Why people switch
Containers are drive-up: you pull your car or van up to the door and load straight in, which makes them popular for bulky furniture, tools, equipment and business stock. At Chipping Norton and Shipston-on-Stour, our containers sit in an access-controlled compound monitored by CCTV around the clock, and we insulate them to stop condensation. If you’re at Warminster, we’ll tell you about its container when you call.
There are only a few containers at each site, so the question is usually whether one is free. If none is free when you call, ask us to let you know when one comes up. Our page on how big our container units are has the sizes.
How the switch works
- Call us to check a container is free and agree a start date. We’ll explain how the move works with your current agreement, and you can ask whether there’s an offer on containers at your site, as promotions vary from site to site.
- Move your things across on a day that suits you. Access is normally 6am to 10pm, seven days a week. If you’d like a hand, we can put you in touch with local removals firms we recommend.
- Leave the indoor unit clean and empty, and drop us an email to say you’re done.
- Check your lock. Ask us which lock your container takes. Our shop sells a heavy-duty container shutter padlock.
- Keep your cover up to date. If you insure your things yourself rather than through our contents protection, let your insurer know they’re moving into an outdoor container.
If you store at another site
A unit can’t be transferred from one site to another, so moving to a container means a new booking at Chipping Norton, Shipston-on-Stour or Warminster, and notice on your current unit. Notice is normally 14 days, and we refund any unused days once you’ve moved out.
Is a container right for your things?
Containers suit sturdy, bulky things best. For paper, fabrics, leather or anything that marks with damp, pack everything dry, keep it off the floor and use breathable covers. Our guide to keeping a container dry explains how. If you’re unsure which suits your things, we’re happy to talk it through.
