Removals storage is storage provided by a removal company as part of a move: its crew packs your belongings, usually into large wooden containers, keeps them in the company’s warehouse, and delivers them to your new home when you’re ready. It is sometimes called containerised storage. You hand your goods over, and you usually see them again only by arrangement with the firm.
At Wigwam
We offer self storage, the other way of covering a gap in a move. You rent your own unit, you decide who can get in, and you can visit whenever it suits you, normally from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week. If completion slips by a few weeks, nothing needs rearranging, and you can pop in for the winter coats or drop off another load along the way.
You don’t have to do the lifting yourself. We can recommend local removal and man-and-van firms, and a removal firm can move your things straight into your own unit with us. When a crew is loading, just make sure you, or someone you’ve shared access with, is there to let them in. There’s free parking while you unload and free trolleys to use.
Everything stored with us needs contents cover. You can take our contents protection, which is designed for storage, or use your own policy.
Which suits you?
Choose self storage if your dates might move, you’ll want things during the gap, or you’d like to keep an eye on your belongings. Removals storage suits fixed dates and a fully hands-off move; if you go that way, ask the firm how visits work, whether they cost extra, and what its cover includes.
