Five questions to ask any storage provider
Prices in South Bristol vary, and so does what you get for them. Before you book anywhere, including with us, these five questions tell you most of what you need to know.
- Will a real person answer the phone, and will they still be there when you move out?
- Is the price you’re quoted the price you’ll pay, once insurance, any deposit and any “introductory” period are included?
- How easy is it to get in and out with a full car or a van?
- Can you change unit size, or leave, without a penalty? How much notice do they need?
- Did they ask what’s going on in your life, or only how many square feet you want?
That last one matters more than it sounds. If someone understands why you’re storing, they can suggest the right size, warn you about the gap you haven’t planned for, and save you paying for space you don’t need.
Who we’re here for in South Bristol
Bristol Hengrove is a short drive from Hengrove, Whitchurch, Stockwood, Hartcliffe and Withywood, Knowle and Knowle West. It’s also close to Hengrove Park, where hundreds of new homes are being built and plenty of people are juggling a move date.

We’re on Roman Farm Road, Hengrove, Bristol BS4 1UP. Roman Farm Road runs off the A4174 Hengrove Way, with easy links to the South Bristol Link Road, the A4 Bath Road and the ring road. We’re about four miles from the city centre.
We share the estate with Screwfix and the First Bus depot, so if you can see either, you’re nearly there. If you’re not sure, call us on 0117 4628800 and we’ll talk you in.
What happens when you get in touch
- Call Lenny or Richard on 0117 4628800, or to reserve or book online here. There’s no deposit and just a few checks.
- We’ll ask how long you think you’ll need storage, then recommend a size. If you’re not sure, we welcome you to come and look at a unit first.
- On move-in day, you’ll need to bring some ID which we will let you know about in advance. We’ll show you round, set up your access and make sure you know who to call.

Units range from 10sq ft to 300 sq ft. As a rough guide, our most popular unit is 50 sq ft and you can hold the contents of a full transit van or a one-bedroom flat. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll recommend a size.
Can businesses use the Hengrove site?
Yes. Traders, online retailers, charities and a range of local businesses use our units for stock holding, tool storage and document storage.
Do I need insurance?
Contents Protection cover is required for your goods. We will confirm the cost based on the value of your goods stored. We recommend you take out Wigwam’s cover in the first instance, but you can arrange your own cover if you want to.
How quickly can I move in?
Yes, you can move in on the same day provided you have made payment and provided the neccesary ID checks.
