Pest control is the work of keeping pests, such as mice, rats, moths and other insects, out of a building, and dealing with them quickly if they get in. In a storage building it combines professional treatment and inspections with rules that give pests nothing to come in for, such as keeping food out.
At Wigwam
All our sites have pest control measures in place and are regularly inspected by professionals, so looking after the building is our job. Your part is simple: give pests no reason to visit your unit.
- Keep food out. Food in one unit can draw mice into a building full of other people’s belongings, so fresh, chilled, frozen and opened food can’t be stored.
- Clean before storing. Vacuum sofas, and wash or clean clothes, bedding and rugs, as crumbs and dirt attract pests and moths.
- Use lidded tubs for fabric, books and papers, and keep things off the floor.
- Leave chemicals at home. Mothballs, poisons and anything that gives off a smell can’t be stored.
