A Transit van load is the amount that fits in a large panel van of the kind people often call a “Transit”, after the Ford model that made the shape familiar. It’s a common choice for man-and-van moves, moving a single room, a student’s things or a small flat, and the phrase is often used as a rough measure of a smaller move.
At Wigwam
As a rough guide, Enterprise’s van size guide says a large van is suitable for moving a one-bed flat or bedsit, with a load space of up to 11.3 cubic metres. That’s about the load our size guides put in a 50 sq ft unit: a studio or small one-bed flat with modest furniture. If you’re only storing part of a home, you may need less.
At every site there’s free parking while you unload and free trolleys to take things to your door. If you’d rather not drive or lift, we can recommend local removals and man-and-van firms.
Making one load go further
- Take beds and tables apart, and tape fixings to the frame.
- Pack boxes of a similar size so they stack neatly in the van and again in your unit.
- Load heavy things first, against the bulkhead, and fill gaps with soft items.
