Can I rent two storage units side by side?

Yes, you can rent more than one unit with us, and they can sit side by side whenever two units next to each other are free at your site. Give us a call on 0800 2545585 before you book and we’ll check what’s available for you.

Booking two units together

Which units are free changes from day to day, and the online quote doesn’t have a way to ask for a pair, so a quick call is the easiest route. Tell us the sizes you have in mind and we’ll look for two together.

While you’re on the phone, it’s worth asking whether one larger unit would do the job instead. One bigger unit often costs less than two smaller ones, and everything stays in one place. If you want to keep two lots of things apart, such as household furniture and work tools, a freestanding shelving unit or a clear gap down the middle does it neatly.

Already renting and running out of room?

You have two easy options:

  • Add a second unit. If the one next to yours is free, ask for it. Each unit is its own booking, so when you no longer need the extra space, you can give notice on that one and keep the first.
  • Move to a bigger unit. You can transfer to a larger or smaller unit at your site when one is available. Call us and we’ll talk you through it.

A unit each, next door to each other

If two of you want a unit each, side by side (perhaps two sisters sharing out a parent’s belongings), you can each book in your own name, with your own contents cover. If you’d like to get into each other’s units, you can share access through smart entry.

Room for a growing business

If you store business stock with us, you can add an adjacent unit as things grow, as long as one is free. Ahead of your busy season, ask early, as the unit next door may already be taken.

Cover for both units

Everything you store needs contents cover, so make sure the value you declare covers what’s in each unit. Our guide to how much contents cover you need helps you work it out.
