A storage locker is simply a smaller storage unit: a lockable space for a few boxes, suitcases or files, rather than a room you walk into. It works just like a unit, with the same easy access and the same simple rules, so the only real question is how much you have to store.
Which one is right for you?
A locker suits a few boxes, suitcases, seasonal decorations or small personal items. It’s ideal for a student’s things over the summer, a few boxes of paperwork, or the bits that won’t fit in a new flat.
A unit suits furniture, a mattress, anything long or tall, or more than a handful of boxes. If you’re not sure, our size guide helps, or call us and describe what you have: we’ll suggest a size.
A locker costs less in total than a bigger unit, so it’s good value when everything genuinely fits. At some sites a locker and our smallest unit are close in price, so it’s worth comparing the two when you get a price.

The same simple rules, whatever the size
A locker is let on the same storage agreement as a unit, so everything works the same way:
- Come and go as you like. Access is normally 6am to 10pm, seven days a week. Ask us how you’ll open your locker at the site you choose.
- Flexible terms. You’re billed every four weeks, the minimum stay is two weeks, and when you’re ready to leave you normally give us 14 days’ notice.
- Cover for what you store. Everything stored needs contents cover, either through our contents protection or your own insurance, so you can claim if something ever goes wrong.
- The same safe list. To keep everyone’s belongings safe, a few things can’t be stored in a locker or a unit, such as anything flammable, food or chemicals. Our list of items we can’t store has the details.
